Jessie has grown up in the horse industry working together with her family since she was a small child.  She brings a great love of horses and a deep commitment to maintaining a high standard of dressage for both her horses and clients. 

Jessie competed and trained horses throughout much of her high school career and was able to compete at the North American Young Riders Championships in 1992 while attending college in Decatur, Illinois. In 1993 Jessie graduated from Millikin University with a BA in Communications and a minor in English Literature.  Jessie went on to work in the Marketing Departments of several companies before deciding on a full time career in horses.

Jessie SteinerJessie has been acting as Assistant Trainer and managing the business side of Betsy Steiner Dressage since 1995.  She has trained several horses up to FEI Levels in addition to starting the careers of several talented youngsters.  She has clients ranging from beginners to competitive upper level amateurs; she really enjoys teaching and bringing out the best in each horse and rider.  Jessie works with horses and riders to develop a program benefiting the unique needs of each combination to allow each individual to shine.  Jessie is able to bring this knowledge to her students because of the unique opportunities she has had throughout her riding career.  She has received wonderful coaching from Betsy on a regular basis and has been fortunate enough to work with some brilliant professionals during her career including, Klaus Balkenhol, Kathy Connelly, Steffan Peters, Conrad Schumacher and Guenter Seidel. In 2006, Jessie spent 6 weeks in Warendorf, Germany with Michael Ripploh, riding and gaining knowledge to aid in Betsy Steiner Dressage‚Äôs horse sales business. Jessie gives clinics throughout the East Coast and Midwest on a regular basis and is always willing to take on new clients and horses.

In 2009 Jessie launched an internship program to introduce young adults to the dressage training business.  This program has become very successful and has produced some talented young professionals.  Recently, Jessie has been involved in working with local pony clubs, introducing them to dressage and good basics.  Jessie enjoys working with young people and really likes giving them a good start in their equine careers.

  • USDF Bronze and Silver Medalist
  • Bronze Team Medal at the 1992 NAYRC
  • Eighth place finish in the USET Intermediare 1 Championships in 1998
  • Winner of Prix St. George & Intermediare 1, Golden State Dressage CDI
  • USDF reserve Championship at Intermediaire 1, for Region 1
  • Multiple wins with Magdalena from First Level to Intermediare 1
  • Demo rider for USDF Symposium with Conrad Schumacher
  • 2007 coached Angi Voss and Loredo to an ESDCTA Third Level Championship
  • Demo rider for ESDCTA Symposium with Steffan Peters and Janet Foy
  • 2011 Named to the board of ESDCTA and the New Jersey Equine Advisory Board
